Automotive Open System Architecture (Autosar)

RLE manages the increasing complexity of ECUs in modern vehicles by implementing AUTOSAR compliance.

RLE supports in all phases of the software development process– from the first step to the implementation.

Agile development powers
next-generation mobility

In the ever-evolving mobility landscape, software development and architecture are the backbone of modern, customer-centric products. At RLE India, our agile teams are dedicated to meeting customer-specific requirements within defined architectures. From concept to implementation, we specialize in the design, engineering, programming, and testing of embedded systems for critical components such as powertrain, chassis, battery management, and interactive human-machine interface (HMI).

RLE actively develops and designs mobility software for the future. Our support includes the following areas and more:

  • Software and System Architecture
  • Operational Systems
  • Vehicle Specific Protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Feature-based application development

At RLE India, we are specialists in AUTOSAR implementation and the management of the evolving complexity of modern vehicle control units. Our agile approach ensures that we meet customer-specific requirements and adhere to specified architectures. Our expertise ranges from software architecture to operational systems. Our focus on designing, programming, and testing embedded systems for various automotive components positions us as a leader in the development of high-performance EVs.

Our RLE India portfolio for AUTOSAR:

LAYERED ARCHITECTURE

  • The layered architecture describes the hierarchical structure of AUTOSAR software in a top-down manner and maps software layers to the basic software modules.

  • All layered projects share the same layers and general code organisation.

  • Each element is grouped together. This makes it easier to find an object quickly if you need to make changes to some or all objects of a specific type.

INTER-OPERATABILITY BETWEEN OEM AND SUPPLIERS

  • Standardisation of the software architecture that allows automotive OEMs and suppliers to develop software components that are interchangeable between different vehicle models and brands.

  • AUTOSAR’s emphasis on separating the application layer from the underlying hardware promotes software portability.

  • Applications developed using AUTOSAR standards can be easily adapted to different ECUs, enabling more efficient reuse of software components across different vehicle platforms.

WORKING AUTOSAR SYSTEM

  • AUTOSAR, which is used for deeply embedded systems and application software with high requirements for predictability, safety and responsiveness.

  • At the highest level of abstraction, AUTOSAR distinguishes between three software layers running on a microcontroller: Application, Runtime Environment (RTE) and Basic Software (BSW), and provides a modular and scalable approach to software development.
